The Fish Company of Ocracoke

You know how much I love to paint activity. I wanted to capture the excitement of a good catch. The day was gorgeous, with strong light spotlighting all of the characters... and the wetness of the floor. The building's interior is actually bright white but that didn't work. To make the oranges, blues and whites "pop", I needed the neutral walls. The Fish Company is a fascinating place with all the comings and goings... and so little conversation. They all seemed to move with precision and efficiency; a pleasure to paint. 18x24" SOLD
