The Help is a current book about how we baby boomers were raised. My Nannie B. Broadnack remains in my heart even though she left our family 43 years ago. Nanny helped to raise me as did Mary Marvelous. I sought much comfort in their arms over the years. Mary and I continue our relationship even today. After reading The Help, I called and thanked her for all the events and turning points she nurtured me through. I have wonderful memories of these grand women who helped me be myself.
The Help is another painting for the Retro Show. In days gone by, families would move to the beach for the summer with their help. The Help was part of the daily lives of those families.
