Cookie Gilliam was the only "grown up " in Virginia Beach who allowed, and encouraged the use of her nickname by children. Heck, I even called my Mother, "Mrs. Anderson"! Cookie was an avid gardener and shared her flowers with anyone in the neighborhood who was sick or sad, or just needed something pretty to enjoy.
